6 February and after
What we did after the earthquake
As shopkeepers who live in Hatay we cannot tell 6 February as a statistic. This page is not a victory board; it is a short, plain record of a hand held out to a neighbour.
Broken and lost glasses were among the quieter needs of those days. With stock on the shelf, help from suppliers and the hours of our colleagues, we tried to meet people without bargaining over a fee.
Donation, repair and a direction onward — all three belonged to the same intention. To speak without inflation: we do not claim it was enough. We did what we could, and we are still neighbours.
The photographs do not restage the disaster. They recall people looking after one another, a counter being set right, and a shared lens.
